We recently had the opportunity to remodel a kitchen that no longer met the owners’ style or their needs in Wilmette. To determine the clients’ preferences, the owners completed our kitchen questionnaire. Afterwards we sat down with them and discussed their answers and learned that they enjoyed the size and layout of their old kitchen, but needed more storage and wanted it to reflect their more contemporary style. In response, we designed a new kitchen that offered extra storage and counter space by increasing the size of the island and removing an unwanted window. The cabinets, which are Bertch Custom maple cabinets in a natural stain, matched their clean contemporary style. The clients decided to accentuate the island by choosing a dark Blue Pearl granite which contrasts well with the Kashmir White perimeter granite counter. Below are some pictures of the kitchen before the remodel and after the transformation.
